Wat Traimit could have been an ordinary Buddhist temple but it houses a unique artefact. Inside this famous temple visitors will find the world's biggest solid gold statue. This statue of seated Buddha is 3 meters (almost 10ft) tall and it weights incredible 5.5 tonnes.
It's beleived that the statue was created during the 13th century. Later to protect this valuable statue from invading army it was cover with plaster and during centuries it's real value was forgotten. Once again the beauty appeared thanks to an accident when the statue fell from the crane in 1957 and the plaster coating crackled.
