Pak Ou Caves often called as Buddha Caves is a group of caves above the Mekong river located about 25 kilometers from the city of Luang Prabang. The caves became a popular tourist attraction because they hide hundreds of small Buddha statues.
There are two caves. Entrance to the smaller one is visible from the river and is easily accessible. To enter the second larger cave visitors have to climb up to the hill, but it is worth the effort.
