Lalbagh Fort
in Bangladesh (Asia)

Lalbagh Fort is an incomplete palace fortress in the Dhaka city in Bangladesh. Construction started in 1678, but it was never completed. The fort area covers almost 20 acres of land and the fortress complex consisted of 27 structures.

Three most important and best preserved buildings are:

  • The mosque
  • The Tomb of Bibi Pari (daughter of ruler of Bengal, that died in 1688 in the Lalbagh fort)
  • The Diwan-i-Aam with attached turkish bath and remnants of fortification wall
