Borobudur is a buddhist temple complex located on Java. Built in the 9th century it consists of five square platforms surrounded by walls with religious reliefs. On top of these platforms there are three circular platforms with the main dome located in the middle of the top platform. The dome is surrounded with 72 Buddha statues hidden inside perforated stupas.
The monument is a shrine dedicated to Buddha as well as a place for pilgrimage for buddhists in Indonesia. Beside it is the most visited tourist attraction in Indonesia.
